Drawing Figures

I have been giving life-classes to Sixth Form students for many years. I aim to strike a balance of refined control and gestural bravery. I believe it’s important in some sessions to apply a disciplined approach to measuring /studying the figure – slowing-down the observation process and methodically building the form. At other times I like to explore the human figure with a variety of tools and techniques e.g. sticks and ink. Boosted with confidence many students develop their skills into ambitious painted or sculpted works.
